2) The question "What defines a scenario team as professional?" has always been a heavy debate amongst scenario teams and players. Some are for it, some are against it, some have stated what they feel qualifies a team as a professional team, while others state there will never be a professional scenario team no matter what the team accomplishes. At present, there is no organization that sets standards to what qualifies a professional scenario team. Standards are currently taken from the opinions of scenario players, teams, and industry personnel.

Several polls and debates have been done on various forum sites that included many of the leading teams and players involved in scenario paintball. These polls and debates have revealed many different criteria from which the players stated qualifies a scenario team as professional. Approximately 35% of players feel there should not be professional scenario teams. Approximately 12% feel that there should be professional scenario teams but should be paid high salaries like the NFL teams. The following and majority 53% feel that the criteria to be considered a professional scenario team is to;

- receive payment from sponsors either in in gear or monetary value;
- be fully sponsored, receive gear for free and not at cost;
- have sponsors pay for entry fees and paint;
- appear in magazines and newspapers;
- have won various awards;
- appear in video, TV, and or video games;
- have been a General and or XO in games;
- have team support or discount sponsorships;
- act professional on and off the field;
- produce games, referee, support players and industry, etc. etc.

The paintball industry appears to be split almost right down the middle when it comes to the topic of professional scenario teams. The largest debate seams to be the following;

Con - "A Professional Paintball team is a team that gets paid to play paintball. If you're not getting paid you're not a professional paintball team. If players and teams playing paintball helps to pay their mortgage, then they are a "professional " paintball player and or team."

Pro - "Paid to play period is quite harsh, some and or most of the pro ranked NPPL, PSP, XBall teams are not paid to play. Are they helped in air fares, hotels, product, guns, paint, etc, more than likely, but not paid, the pay they receive is from the purse in most cases, or by endorsing product (which could make them professional in another way), and not just by "playing" alone."

The above views were taken from various opinions of other players and do not necessarily reflect Ambush Alpha's view.

Ambush Alpha meets the purest of definitions of the word "professional" that are defined in the Dictionary.

Ambush Alpha players do not or can not solely live off of playing paintball by itself. Several players are involved in other paintball aspects and do make a living off of paintball and or earn a gain while playing and representing the team and or team's sponsors. Most of Ambush Alpha's players still have to work regular jobs, as do many pro xtreme sports athletes (Skateboarders, BMX, Snowboarding, Speedball, Inline, etc.) do. When the NFL first started (1st decade or 2), most of their athletes worked regular jobs.

Ambush Alpha does not claim to be better then any player and or team. Nor does Ambush Alpha claim to be in a higher class or status then any player and or team. Ambush Alpha respects any and all teams that claim to be professional or claim that a team is not professional. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and no one will ever get everyone to agree 100% on any subject. Ambush Alpha feels that there are several nonsponsored teams that qualify as professional. Their skill and professionalism on and off the field are top notch and represent what a professional team is about. Ambush Alpha will always act as professionals and will always uphold the highest of standards. Any player not upholding that standard will be removed from Ambush Alpha.
