History

Ambush Alpha is a paintball team that was established in February of 2005. The team plays competition scenario games, scenario leagues, and speedball games. The team started out with several players from various high profile teams that now make up one serious competitive team. Some players still continue to play for other teams but remain loyal to Ambush Alpha. Ambush Alpha is also known as Team Ambush Alpha Squad, The Ambush Alpha Factory Team, and Team Ambush.

Ambush Alpha made an impression on the paintball world their first season out, winning several awards and accomplishing many team goals. Although the team was only established in February of 2005, they have accomplished more then was expected. The team has earned many awards, appeared various types of media, have hosted and produced games, Generalled and XO'd games, refereed games, and has even appeared in the Greg Hastings video game for PS2 and EMR's Castle Conquest DVD.

Ambush Alpha worked long and hard to gain the respect and admiration from their fellow paintball teams that have been established for many years. Ambush Alpha is now seen in the paintball community as one of the finest teams around, with their great sportsmanship, honorable playing, charity and donations to events, as well as helping and assisting others both on and off the field. The Captain (Brian "Rephy" Reph) of the team, stated that they couldn’t have done it without the help and assistance of some of the greatest paintball teams on the field today. Such teams as; The Blue's Crew, The Undertakers, Team Pain, T.S.S.O.C., Jersey Titans, and many others. He also went on to say that a lot of field owners and game promoters helped the team out a lot. Such fields and promoters like EMR, Poco Loco, Viper, Pyro, Strategy Plus, etc, etc.

The team is supported by the company Ambush Alpha Design Specialties or more commonly known as AADS. Ambush Alpha is involved in the advertising / promotional merchandise business that specializes in the paintball industry. Ambush Alpha Advertising also has a vending booth which is set up at games. The booth carries all of the paintball teams gear that the teams sponsors provide, as well as some other miscellaneous items that Ambush Alpha stands behind and supports. Although Ambush Alpha provides the team with all their promotional needs, such as patches, uniforms, banners, decals, t-shirts, etc., the team also receives a lot of much appreciated support from their sponsors. The team is extremely happy with all that their sponsors have done for them and had nothing but positive remarks about all their sponsors, and the high quality products that their sponsors produce.

US Viper All Star Game Press Release

Chris Westfahl Ambush Alpha’s team co-captain has been selected as one of the Generals for the first ever All Star Invitational game produced by Viper. The team was invited to compete the previous year, in 2007. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, the game was cancelled by the producer. Now in 2008, Ambush Alpha will be leading one side. “It was a great honor to be considered one of the best in the nation last year. But it is an even greater honor to be asked to lead the way in 2008. To be considered among the top 300 players in the nation and to be asked to command one side, is an unbelievable honor,” said team captain Brian Reph.

The 2008 Viper Invitational All Star Game will be held May 24^th/25^th at Sherwood Forest in Indiana. The game will have some of US's top 300 players in the nation attending, 150 players on each side. The game will be 24 hours of nonstop paintball, playing through the night to the next morning. The level of competition will be higher, as these are the best players in the country. The game will feature a very-involved storyline. With hourly revelations and dozens of non-player characters added to the story and its development during the game. Game missions will be more complex with multiple goals and objectives in each mission. The game will also have more effects and opportunities compared to the average scenario game. The level of sportsmanship will be much higher as well. There is a zero tolerance rule that will be in effect.

Ambush Alpha Generalled / Commanded 7 games the first half of the 2007 season, accepting no awards while in command roles. Ambush Alpha then played in the field the second half of the season and won 1 MVT, 2 MVT Honorable Mention, 2 MVP, 1 Sportsmanship Award, and a few other awards. Ambush Alpha also produced a record sold out game that was a huge success at Poco Loco PA. The field sold the most paint and had the most attendance in its history.

European All Star Game Press Release

Professional Scenario Paintball is expanding in 2008. Several teams from the US have been talking about playing games overseas in 2008. Ambush Alpha is among the first to commit to the overseas expansion. Ambush Alpha will be among the first Professional Scenario Paintball Teams to play an overseas game since Professional Scenario Teams have come on the scene in recent years. According to sources there has never been a Professional US scenario team to play a European overseas game.

Ambush Alpha has been asked to play in Finland at their largest scenario event of the year. Finland has one of the largest scenario events in Europe and has many European countries in attendance each year, including Russia. The game is held at Jämsän Paintball in Jämsä Finland in August. The paintball park has several acres of play with a town structure field with several cars and trucks on the side of the roads, a farm house with farming equipment field, an actual fully functional 1992 Russian PTS-M medium amphibious tracked carrier, and a pyro techniques company that light up the fields with controlled fires and simulated explosions. In addition to being invited to the scenario game, Ambush Alpha has been selected to represent the US and will be playing in an All Star exhibition game prior to the scenario game. Ambush Alpha will be competing against Finland’s best with the legendary Riku Sirèn leading the Finland team. Both events will have radio, television, and newspaper coverage as this event is to be one for the record books.
